What are the pros and cons of allowing people to email you on this site?

I don't know a whole lot about computers, are there any real risks?

What are the pros and cons of allowing people to email you on this site?
No real risks but if you post something they dont like they might email you a nasty letter.. it happened to me.
Reply:If you allow emails through Y!A the people don't actually see your email address. It goes THROUGH YA to you. You can always block their Emails if it gets to be a stalker.
Reply:-If you are really sensitive you might get your feelings hurt if someone decides to tell you off. +Good thing is they can't know who you are unless you tell them. +You might meet some great people. +If you need more info regarding a question they can corresponde privately. One person asked a question about art and when I suggested she elaborate so we could help her she did not allow mail so she was stuck.
Reply:I see no need to leave yourself open for possible harassment from complete strangers. I only allow harassment from my friends! ha ha! :)~
Reply:It really doesn't matter security wise, but you might get some random emails that are annoying, so I don't let people email or IM me.
Reply:Well, giving people your email adress probably isn't such a good idea, because people can sign up on a website with your email adress, and sometimes you have to pay to join the websites.
