Are there any FREE sites for a "reverse email search"?

Yes. Do a search for "Sam Spade" and you will be able to download a free software package which will allow you to backtrace the path the email took to get to you, and it will identify the bogus entries in that path which is likely a forged email address or server. Spammers always forge the addresses to hide their actual identity on the net.

EDIT: I can't believe a top contributer who answered before me stated you can not find out this information...

Are there any FREE sites for a "reverse email search"?
That very unlikely since any information attached to an email address (like name, age, etc.) is private and protected by the email company. That is, Yahoo! will not release information about any of its members.

Also, you have to realize that information attached to email can easily be faked. So it would be tremendously unreliable.

There is really no way to find out who owns what email address. If they are annoying you, then just block them.

If they are doing something illegal, you can report them to the email host (Google for @gmail.com or Yahoo for @yahoo.com). They will be able to take care of the matter. They have a much better chance finding out who owns the email.

Edit:

To defend my answer a bit, you can find info on people that don't mind releasing information. People get spam email and telemarketers because they just give addresses and phone numbers to just anyone.

I'm sure there are plenty of programs or sites that compile publicly available information. However, if someone doesn't want to be found, they won't be.

Also, I'm a Top Contributor in Video and Online Games, not Internet. I just thought this was an interesting question to answer.
